It's annoying to me when, in an animal comic, the bad guys, or even good guys, are cliché and always one color, usually black or white, depending on whether they're good or bad characters.
It's kinda racist, you know?
So, to try and fix this problem, I've decided to see if a simple, random number color picking thingamajig will work, to try and stop good guys, bad guys, and even random filler characters from falling into the horrible hell pit of cliché fur color and lame-o plots.
The cliché plots… well, that's your problem to fix. But at least this might help to create a less-cliché main character or antagonist.
So, to do this, pick a number from 1-X, or perhaps ask a friend, sibling or dog (though you might not get a response from the last) to pick a number for you. And don't cheat, either, because then there's no reason to do this!
Base fur color
(pick a number from 1-6)
1 Light grey
2 Black
3 White
4 Grey
5 Tan
6 Dark grey
Underside fur color
(pick a number from 1-3)
1 White
2 Light brown
3 None
Ticking (flecks of different colored fur, usually on the back, legs or face)
(pick a number from 1-8)
1 Black
2 White
3 Tan
4 Grey
5 Dark Brown
6 None
7 Light grey
8 Dark grey
Eye Color, Natural (choose either natural or unnatural)
(pick a number from 1-6)
1 Yellow
2 Yellow-green
3 Brown
4 Grey
5 Green
6 Yellow-brown
Eye Color, Unnatural (choose either natural or unnatural)
(pick a number from 1-6)
1 Purple
2 Red
3 Orange
4 Blue
5 White
6 Blue-green
Now just add some extra markings, personality, whatever you want, and try and keep both your characters, and you plot – if you're making a comic, animation or book – original, natural and believable!
Because I'm really annoyed by sparklewolves.

My therian awaking
The path of the wolf:
It all started six years ago, looking back I´ve always been a little different than others in my age. Just six years ago, when I was 13, it was the second week of august, the night of Friday, I had a significant dream. It was about dolphins and how I've always liked them, something within me stirred, but until this summer I couldn´t comprehend it´s meaning. Before that night I never felt a special connection to any animal, but ever since this certain thing kept growing and slowly developed shape.
2005: (still far from understanding anything) I started developing a deep connection and longing towards dolp

Creating A Character
Disclaimer!!
There are no set rules when creating a character: someone could create them just out of nowhere, without following any rule. This is just how I like to plan characters out when making them.
Also, keep in mind that this guide will be focused mainly on characters belonging to a story, comic or whatever you can think, may they be completely original characters or fan characters.
BASIC STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Ah, the wonderful Mary Sues, Gary Stus and Self Inserts. What are they? Urban Dictionary gives a very good definition for them:
Mary Sue - A female character who is so perfect that she is annoying. The name originated in a

What is this category I don't even
Also what is this title I don't even
Anyway. I was thinking about cliche' characters and cliche' animal coat colors, and thinking "maybe if I just made a sort of random thing, that, if you... say... picked a number for each category, then it'd be easier to have a random, unbiased coat color for you characters..."
So, this.
I might do some other versions, like a cat/fox/rat one, maybe.
I dunno, this is fun.

I rather like the idea of this! I think this will really help Also, I agree with you. I don't understand why evil characters always have to have black fur, and opposite for heroes. It makes no sense :/ I will definitely use this sometime!
